Like so many patriots around the country, I feel that our nation has gotten away from its traditional roots. Government interference in the free market prevents creating opportunity for all Americans to pursue long lasting and proud careers, rather than simply filling non-rewarding jobs. For decades, Americans worked hard in industry and their careers to provide for their families and now that dream has slowly slipped away.
Having a well-compensated career as opposed to any odd job allows for people to provide for their families security and to pay for those goods and services best suited to meeting their needs. The federal government should reduce regulations and interference in trade by allowing the free market to determine winners and losers, rather than bailing out failed businesses. This would bring industry back to America, and it will be my job, with your help, to support the free market policies that will bring those manufacturing jobs back to our community as well as other careers that were once the basis of our growth and leadership throughout the world. America‚ once a great innovative spirit is but a shadow of its former self.
The government banker bailout has proved once again that the career politicians only care about Wall Street, not Main Street. I will not support bailing out businesses or any special interest. The bailouts, although wrong and unnecessary, would have been better-spent helping homeowners keep their property and thus create stronger families and a future where the dream of home ownership is not lost. Reducing taxes on homeowners and businesses would have been a better use of the funds rather than bailing out big banks.
As your Congressman, I will work with the leaders of industry, government and our communities to restore The United States back to its leadership role in industry, science, and education. We will accomplish this by making it effective and by cutting the waste. It will be my desire to bring government back to its proper role of protecting individual freedoms, and getting it out of the way of free enterprise so entrepreneurs are free to create new jobs.
