As an ardent supporter of the US Constitution and our Bill of Rights, I fully support the 2nd Amendment rights of law abiding citizens, to protect themselves and their families. Every country that has enacted gun bans has paid the price of high crime and in many cases the victims of gun violence suffer from those who will never follow the law.
There are too many examples in history where citizens are not allowed to arm and protect themselves and life was not protected. The clearest example would be 1939-1944 Germany. America was not invaded by Japan because the citizens were armed, as is the case of Switzerland where almost every citizen is armed, crime is low, and the country is secure. Tyrants and criminals pick on the weak. In every case where a nation, state, or local government allows its people to defend itself, crime and security are not a problem.
